Lucas Sousa Dória and Tiago Fernandes Vieira, the winners of the EUCYS 2022 Bioeconomy Prize, visited Brussels at the invitation of CBE JU in September 2023. This visit aimed to introduce their innovative research project to key policymakers within the European institutions.

EUCYS 2023 bioeconomy winner announced

Elisa Jääskeläinen won the EUCYS 2023 bioeconomy prize for her work on optimising the pre-treatment of cellulose nanocrystals. Joaquim Sousa Dória and José Tiago Fernandes Vieira were awarded the EUCYS 2022 bioeconomy prize for their research on using the banana pulp to remove microplastic pollution from water.
