Global Bioeconomy Summit 2026

In-person

The Global Bioeconomy Summit is a leading international forum dedicated to advancing a sustainable and circular bioeconom. Held bi or tri-annually since 2015, it brings together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, academia and other stakeholders from around the world to discuss strategies for replacing fossil-based systems with renewable biological resources, and for accelerating the transition toward climate-neutral and resource-efficient economies. Previous editions have attracted more than 700 in-person participants  from over 70 countries, reflecting the growing global momentum behind bio-based solutions.

The 2026 edition will take place on 20–21 October in Dublin, focusing on global cooperation, investment pathways and scaling bio-based innovation across sectors such as agriculture, materials, chemicals, energy, and biotechnology. Discussions will highlight how bio-based solutions can address urgent global challenges, including food and energy security, biodiversity loss, climate change, and public health, while ensuring their deployment remains inclusive and equitable.

Through high-level dialogues, workshops and site visits, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the development of global, national and regional bioeconomy strategies

  • Engage with cutting-edge science, technology and innovation

  • Build cross-border partnerships for investment and collaboration

  • Showcase and learn from local solutions with global relevance

  • Support the development of actionable, nature-positive outcomes that align market uptake with sustainable supply, resilient value chains and future policy direction.

As part of the programme, CBE JU will host an exhibition featuring bio-based products developed through its funded projects. The showcase will highlight European bio-based innovation and underline opportunities for collaboration, funding and scale-up.
