IFIB - International Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy

IFIB is an annual international forum focused on industrial biotechnology and bioeconomy, bringing together key global stakeholders to discuss and showcase the latest developments in the bioeconomy. This year's edition returns to Rome and will once again gather policymakers, researchers, industry leaders and innovators from across Europe and beyond to explore the technologies, partnerships and policies driving the shift towards a circular, bio-based economy.

Alongside the conference sessions, IFIB 2026 will host matchmaking meetings, offering start-ups, companies, universities and research centres the opportunity to connect through B2B sessions and explore potential collaborations and joint research opportunities.

CBE JU Executive Director Nicoló Giacomuzzi-Moore will take part in the opening keynote session, alongside Philippe Mengal, from the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), and Agata Kotkowska, from the European Commission's DG Environment.
