With over 60% of Europe’s soils in poor condition the 3rd edition of European Mission Soil Week comes at a pivotal time for soil policy in Europe. Jointly organised by the Danish Ministry of Green Transition, Aarhus University and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, the event will convene policymakers, researchers, financial actors, and land managers to discuss approaches for improving soil quality in Europe. The programme will focus on innovative financing mechanisms and on integrated landscape management practises, highlighting how a sustainable land strategy can contribute to climate mitigation, biodiversity protection and long-term food security. CBE JU Programme Officer Simone Maccaferri will participate in the discussions as a speaker in the breakout session Innovative financial mechanisms for scaling soil health in forestry, taking place on the 5 November at 14:00.
