Symbiosis in Action: Scaling Bio-based Business Models Across Europe

In-person

The final conference of the European projects SYMBIO and SYMBA will explore how industrial symbiosis can help scale sustainable bio-based business models across Europe. The event will bring together European policymakers, researchers, industry representatives and other bioeconomy stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening industrial collaboration, improving resource efficiency and accelerating the uptake of circular bio-based solutions. Participants will learn about the projects’ results, including approaches to identifying industrial symbiosis opportunities, developing circular value chains and assessing the economic, environmental and social impacts of industrial symbiosis. The programme will also explore policy recommendations, opportunities for collaboration between European initiatives and the potential to replicate successful business models across regions.

CBE JU Project Officer and Co-Call Coordinator Simone Maccaferri will join the session Beyond the projects: Building impact through collaboration and Key Exploitable Results, taking place from 11:30 to 12:10. The session will focus on collaboration between sister projects and EU initiatives, and the role of synergies in replicating and scaling up bio-based innovations across European regions.

Registrations are open until 26 November.
