A decorative 3D-printed stool combining almond shell fibres with a chlorophyll-derived green pigment to demonstrate bio-based components in interior product design
The BARBARA project developed a 3D-printed luminous tree-shaped stool combining polyester with almond shell fibres and a green pigment derived from chlorophyll.
The illuminated canopy demonstrates how agricultural sidestreams and bio-based pigments can contribute functionality, colour and distinctive design to interior products.
Key benefits
Creates value from agricultural sidestreams
Reduces the use of conventional fillers and pigments
Demonstrates bio-based materials in interior product design
