Sandpaper with lignin-based resin
Abrasive paper using VIOBOND lignin-based resin to deliver the required performance with lower fossil-based resin content.
VIOBOND has also demonstrated abrasive paper using its lignin-based thermosetting resin. In the resin formulation, lignin replaces part of the fossil-based phenol conventionally used in phenol-formaldehyde systems.
The sandpaper application shows that the bio-based resin can be used in an industrial abrasive product while maintaining the required performance. It extends the use of the VIOBOND resin beyond plywood overlays and interior laminates.
