The CBE JU Info Day 2026, held online on 12 March, brought together participants from across Europe interested in participating in the upcoming CBE JU 2026 call for project proposals.
The event attracted over 1 000 participants from 48 countries who joined the session to learn more about the priorities, topics and rules for participation in the new CBE JU call. Participants from widening countries accounted for 20% of connected attendees, reflecting growing interest in CBE JU funding opportunities across Europe. SMEs also showed strong engagement, representing more than 33% of all registered participants.
During the event, experts from the CBE JU, the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) and the European Commission presented the key elements of the call and shared practical guidance on preparing competitive proposals. Participants also had the opportunity to engage directly with speakers during live Q&A sessions, with over 120 questions submitted throughout the event. the event recording and presentations are available on the event's page. The CBE JU 2026 call for project proposals is planned to open on 23 April 2026. The call will support projects developing and scaling up innovative and sustainable bio-based solutions, helping to strengthen circular value chains and advance Europe’s bioeconomy.
To further support the building up of strong consortia, interested applicants can already start connecting through the networking platform. The platform allows participants to create profiles, present project ideas and arrange meetings with potential partners ahead of the CBE JU networking event on 21 April in Brussels.
