Tracking CBE JU’s progress with the KPI dashboard

Publication date:

The CBE JU KPI dashboard is a new interactive tool offering a clear and accessible overview of the programme’s progress towards its ten partnership-specific key performance indicators.

Defined in the CBE JU Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), these KPIs monitor how the programme contributes to Europe’s circular bio-based sector, from sustainable feedstock and circular approaches to market uptake, including investment, skills and wider participation.

The dashboard presents project-reported data through dynamic visuals, making it easier to explore CBE JU’s progress towards its 2031 targets. Users can navigate through the ten KPIs, compare progress across indicators and access more detailed information through charts, maps and selected project examples

The dashboard brings together data from 80 CBE JU projects funded under the first three calls (2022-2024). It presents aggregated data in an interactive format and clearly distinguishes between achieved KPIs and estimated contributions that will be confirmed as projects advance and reach completion.

Key features:

  • Tracks progress towards CBE JU’s ten KPIs: the dashboard shows how the programme is advancing towards the partnership-specific targets set in its SRIA.
  • Presents data in a user-friendly and accessible format: complex monitoring data is displayed through clear visuals and interactive charts, helping users understand progress at programme level.
  • Shows project contributions: examples are included to illustrate how CBE JU-funded projects support specific KPIs.
  • Enables KPI-by-KPI exploration: users can select individual KPIs, view progress across all indicators or access more detailed pages with further specific KPIs analysis.
  • Supports interactive filtering: filtering functionalities in charts, maps and other dashboard elements allow users to explore the data from different angles.

The KPI dashboard strengthens transparency around CBE JU’s performance and impact. It also provides stakeholders with a practical tool to monitor the progress of the CBE JU programme, following how project results contribute to the programme’s objectives and long-term targets.

The dashboard is part of CBE JU’s wider effort to make bioeconomy data more accessible and useful for policymakers, industry, researchers and other stakeholders interested in Europe’s circular bio-based sector.
