The EFFECTIVE project demonstrated cycling pants made mainly from bio-based nylon produced from renewable sugar feedstocks. The material is designed to provide the durability and flexibility required for performance apparel.
The cycling pants are designed for easier recycling than conventional alternatives while reducing reliance on fossil-based polyamides. The project estimates potential CO₂ emission reductions of 28% to 45% for its demonstrated bio-based nylon products.
