The EFFECTIVE project demonstrated a swimsuit made mainly from bio-based nylon produced from renewable sugar feedstocks. The material is designed to provide the flexibility and performance required for sportswear.
The swimsuit is designed for easier recycling than conventional alternatives while reducing reliance on fossil-based polyamides. The project estimates potential CO₂ emission reductions of 28% to 45% for its demonstrated bio-based nylon products.
