Electric scooter with hemp-composite frame
An electric scooter using hemp composites in its frame to reduce weight and increase bio-based material content.
The SSUCHY project demonstrated an electric scooter in which hemp composites replace steel in the frame. The demonstrator applies high-performance plant-fibre composites in a complete mobility product.
The redesigned scooter weighs 13 kg, representing a 59% weight reduction, while its bio-based content reaches 65%. Its life-cycle emissions are reduced by up to 11%.
