About

REDWine has demonstrated white wine clarified with Chlorella vulgaris instead of conventional animal-derived fining agents or mineral clays. The microalgae is used as part of the wine-clarification process.

Chlorella contributes to protein stabilisation while preserving aroma, colour and polyphenol content. The approach supports vegan and allergen-free wine production and creates another application for microalgae within the REDWine value chain.

Key benefits

  • Replaces synthetic & animal-derived fining agents
  • Uses winery waste & captured CO₂ as biomass
  • Supports vegan & allergen-free production

Application

  • Wine clarification
  • Vegan wine production
