BRILIAN has developed a protein-, essential fatty acid- and energy-rich livestock feed ingredient from cardoon oil cake remaining after vegetable-oil extraction. The product creates a feed application for a processing sidestream from the same agricultural value chain.
The recovered ingredient is suitable for incorporation into livestock feed formulations. Its use increases the value obtained from cardoon by using both the extracted oil and the remaining oil cake for separate applications.
