About

The GRACE project developed sound-insulation and decorative wall panels using hemp sidestreams, miscanthus, cotton-industry waste and fungal mycelium. The plant-based fibres form the panel structure, while the mycelium acts as a natural binder.

The panels create a higher-value use for agricultural and textile sidestreams while providing strong sound-absorption properties. They combine acoustic performance with renewable and recovered material inputs for interior construction.

Key benefits

  • Uses several agricultural and industrial sidestreams
  • Uses fungal mycelium as a bio-based binder
  • Provides sound-absorption and decorative functions

Application

  • Sound insulation
  • Decorative wall panels
  • Interior construction
