The LIGNICOAT project developed coatings based on lignin-derived chemicals and resins as renewable alternatives to petrochemical components used in conventional coating formulations.
The coatings are designed to reduce reliance on fossil-based raw materials while maintaining the functionality required for surface protection. They also support a more sustainable use of lignin in higher-value material applications.
