Rural BioReFarmeries has demonstrated biodegradable PaperFoam packaging for ear plugs using minced grass sourced from Ireland. The grass is incorporated as a renewable fibre input in the packaging material.
The product replaces part of the conventional virgin-fibre input with a grass sidestream while providing a practical protective packaging format for ear plugs. It demonstrates another packaging route for grass-based biomass alongside food-protection trays.
