PEF bottles for retail, wine and carbonated drinks
Lightweight, fully recyclable bottles made from 100% bio-based PEF for retail, wine and carbonated-drink packaging.
The PEFerence project has demonstrated a range of lightweight bottles made from fully recyclable, 100% bio-based polyethylene furanoate, or PEF, marketed as releaf®. These include bottles already used for products available at Albert Heijn supermarkets, as well as bottle formats for wine and carbonated soft drinks.
The bottle range shows how bio-based PEF can meet the requirements of different beverage and food-packaging applications. It combines low weight with strong oxygen and carbon dioxide barrier properties, helping preserve product quality and extend shelf life while remaining compatible with existing production and recycling systems.
