FIRST2RUN developed biodegradable and compostable bags using materials derived from vegetable oils produced from low-input cardoon grown on marginal land. The bags are designed for fruit and vegetable packaging.
The same bags can also be used for organic-waste collection, supporting circular waste management after their initial use. The product has progressed beyond demonstration and is established on the market.
