Dry- and wet-formed fresh meat trays made from wood-derived materials, with bio-based barriers, freshness-monitoring features and markers to support sorting and recycling.
REDYSIGN has developed dry- and wet-formed trays for fresh meat packaging using wood-derived fibres, micro- and nanofibres, lignin and sugars. Bio-based barrier coatings are designed to protect the packaged food without conventional fossil-based plastic layers.
The packaging also incorporates freshness-monitoring features and identification markers intended to support food safety, sorting and recycling at conventional paper recycling facilities.
